Austria - Alpine Heaven
20th September 2012
Just returned from the Tyrolean region of Austria with many Images to share. This was my first time in the country and found it to be an alpine wonderland. After landing in Innsbruck, I traveled to the nearby Stubai Valley and trekked the Stubai Hohenweg. This multi-day hut to hut hike travels through some of the most breath taking alpine-glacier country in Austria. After brief visit to the cultural center of Salzburg, hiking resumed in nearby Hohe Tauern National Park. This is Austria's largest National Park largest nature reserve in the Alps. Weather ranged from the extremes of clear sunny days to snow storms and dense fog, creating challenging photographic conditions which ultimately led to more interesting photographs. Check back often, as I will be updating the Austria Gallery beginning in the next few days.
