2020 Epson International Pano Awards
28th October 2020
The results of the 2020 Epson International Pano Awards were just released and I am pleased to have been honored with a number of winning images. The 11th Epson International Pano Awards is dedicated to the craft and art of panoramic photography, and is the world's largest competition devoted to the genre. Top performing photographers are showcased in over 100 publications worldwide and a prize pool valued at $40,000. Most of my awarded images below were taken using the normal 35mm format and cropped to the required 2:1 aspect ratio. So while I did not originally compose for a panorama format, the images seemed to hold up conceptually as a panorama. When taking an image with the intent of a panorama, I normally zoom in on my subject then stitch several single images together for a higher resolution final image file. This was a record year for submissions with 5,859 entries from 1452 photographers representing 96 countries. The competition is sponsored by Epson Australia.
