Cordillera Blanca's Finest
A zoom lens was used to capture all of the detail in these mammoth peaks of Peru's Cordillera Blanca. From the far left is the Huandoy Group (21,103 ft.), Huascaran Norte (21,991 ft.) Huascaran Sur (22,334 ft.), and Chopicalqui (20,968 ft.). This image was taken at sunrise from Huaraz. Huaraz was used as a base camp prior to our trekking and offered me several opportunities to capture the peaks with dramatic lighting.
