Emerald Sunrise

These algae covered rocks created a striking contrast to the granite outcroppings near Rye. As high tide approached, I caught this beautiful sunrise and was able to include the rocks. Interestingly, the green algae was stripped from the boulders days later by what seemed insignificant surf. I saw a tremendous amount of seaweed washed up on the beaches the following days and believe it may have scrubbed the rocks clean even though the waves were not noteworthy.
