Afternoon Delight

A trip to Mount Assiniboine Provincial Park is not complete without a hike up to the Niblit, Nublit, and Nub Peaks. These three alpine prominences afford majestic views of beautiful lakes and stunning mountains. In autumn, larch trees in the area turn a vibrant yellow to orange color, so I planned my visit to the park to catch them before they lost their needles. I hiked many miles to these outcrops over several days, hoping to capture some dramatic moments. I highlight the larch in this shot as they were backlit by the sun. Terrapin Mnt., Mount Magog, Mount Assiniboine, Sunburst Peak, Wedgewood Peak, and The Marshall form the alpine sky line.
