Fortress of Solitude

Hidden ice worlds lie beneath Iceland's Vatnajokull Glacier waiting to be discovered. Melt caverns are sculpted during the warmer months and are more safely explored during the winter. This cave had 2 openings - a down stream melt stream and a collapsed ceiling several hundred feet upstream. Recent heavy snows deposited snow through the collapsed ceiling, forming beautiful snow drifts.
