Highland Summer

Summer in the Highlands of Iceland comes late, if at all. Even in mid July with daylight 24 hours a day, snow fields remain deep and the rivers run cold. Patches of vibrant green mosses and grass respond quickly to the melting snow for brief periods during the summer.
