First Snow - Lonesome Lake - New Hampshire Mountains - Streams - Lakes - & Rivers
I hunkered down under a bush alongside Lonesome Lake for about 3 hours, hoping the area's 1st snow storm would partially clear above the peaks of Franconia Ridge. It was very cold and windy, and the small bushes provided a little protection. I had hoped a moose would pass in front of me, but no luck. A break in the clouds lit up the range, and I was able to get off a couple of frames before the sun was lost. Windy conditions prevented the reflection I was looking for, but great light none the less. This shot came about an hour before sunset, but dark clouds blanketed the area by that time. The long wait was rewarded with a surprise sunset (see Lonesome Lake Alpenglow).
